More showers and storms will linger into the evening though. Heavy rain and gusty winds are our main threats today into tonight.

Showers and storms will develop this afternoon

Last updated by Devontae Jackson at 1:02 PM Monday, July 16, 2018. Showers and storms will move into the area between 12 noon and 2 PM today. A few storms could be a little intense. Heavy rain and gusty winds are our primary threats for today into tonight. The bulk of the showers and storms should exit the area between 10 PM and 11 PM. After that, a few popup showers and storms cannot be ruled out.

Last updated by Devontae Jackson at 1:12 PM on Monday, July 16, 2018. Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon. Some showers and storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Highs today will be in the lower 90’s with overnight lows in the upper 60’s. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 80’s. Lows tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 50’s. Highs on Wednesday will be in the lower 80’s with lows in the upper 50’s. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s on Thursday with lows in the low to mid 60’s.

A June thunderstorm

A strong storm moved through the area on June 5, 2017. This was a particularly strong storm. It rained and hailed very hard. It hailed so bad that in the picture above you can see it started ripping leaves off of trees and rain lowered visibilities. On top of that winds were blowing everything around. Winds were so strong it started snapping trees. I can say, this is one storm I won’t forget.

Forecast for tomorrow | Sunday, July 15, 2018

Well I mean, the weather could be worse

You can read more about the timing of the rain on one of my latest blog posts here: Rain likely tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80’s to the lower 90’s. Dew points will be in the 70’s tomorrow as well. Which means that it could feel like the mid to upper 90’s tomorrow. Make sure to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks, wear light clothing, and check on the elderly and those without air conditioning.

Other parts of the area may see more than an inch of rain. Although, check back in tomorrow, because something tells me this forecast may change.

Rain will move into the area between 3 AM and 4 AM. Rain will be moving south throughout the morning. Rain will last until a little after noon tomorrow. After that, some popup showers and maybe even a small storm cannot be ruled out north of I-70.

Temperatures will quickly rise into the 80’s by noon on Saturday. Our hottest temps will occur around 5 PM with temps in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.
